THE ASPARAGUS OF TREVISO

Treviso, our city, is well known for many delicatessen: first of all, the most famous cale in the world, the Tiramisu and then in the list we also find the Radicchio, the crunchy and slightly bitter (in the end ) red salad, but Treviso is really famous even for another food, the Asparagus!

If you have a tour in the local market, you will find asparagus of 2 different colors, white and green, and also many different variety of the same vegetable. This large selection is due to the fact that in the countryside of Treviso, there are many areas dedicated to this plantation and everyone is giving a different but equally tasty product. We are speaking about Cimadolmo close to Piave River (Sacred River to the Homeland due to the fact of WWI), or Badoere close to Sile River (which is the most famous and important ever in Treviso) and even Bassano del Grappa, close to Brenta River (which flows into Venetian lagoon) but the city itself is well known for many other foods, drinks and history, too.

The season for the asparagus is right now, in spring, April more or less… come in Treviso ad try delicious dishes such as Risotto with asparagus, Asparagus and Eggs, Quiche filled with Asparagus, Pasta with Asparagus and Ricotta cheese, Asparagus croquette and tons of many other recipes.
