Padua and surrounding tour
PADUA AND SURROUNDING TOUR
A wonderful day in Padua and surrounding. in order to enjoy the highlights of the cities, which are parts architecture and history, and part food and drink, in a perfect mix.
As usual, your day will begin in the moment you will meet our drive in front of your hotel, and from that moment you will be completely cuddled by our team, in the while you will be visiting:
Padua: you will love this amazing city, which has got many and many highlights, such as one of oldest university in Italy, where Mr Galileo Galileo were used to teach, or one of the best chapel frescoed by Mr Giotto, or one of the most famous church in Italy dedicated to St Antony or the oldest University Botanical garden in the world. But Padua is famous even for its bursting life, with its interesting mix among locals, students and tourists, and don’t forget about its endless covered walkway, or its many squares, or a tons of bars serving Spritz (the local aperitif) and Tramezzino (a sandwich with soft bread and different stuffings) for perfectly acting like a local during your lunch time.
Este: not far from Padua, you will easily reach a lovely city which has got a very long story, since 3000 years ago. As in the museum there are many proofs of that period, as in the town there are many proofs of the medieval period, on the plant of the city, on the ancient walls, on the facades and – at the same time – the town is really modern if you look at the shops, stores, bars and restaurants, but all those differences together create a very special mix which will make you fall in love.
Delicatessen: this stop will give yo the time to rest a little bit and at the same time to taste some local products such as the Montagnana dry cured ham. Everything will took place in an amazing location, lovely and successfully run by the same family from 3 generations.
Arquà Petrarca: it’s a very tiny little village in the Euganean Hills, famous for its beloved inhabitant (contemporary of Mr Dante Alighieri) with the same name, that is Mr Petrarca, the Italian writer of Canzoniere, who spent last years of his life and later he was buried here. But this village is famous even for a really particular fruit – not rare but even not so well spread, the Giuggiola (Jujube) which is so important in this place that an autumn festival is entitled to it! Anyway don’t worry because all year long, you can find pretty every kind of product with Giuggiola, such as jam, cookies, liquor, cake, risotto, just to give an idea.
Winery: this is the moment for another tasting, and this time the wine will be the main character, together with the villa which definitely frames this stop and this experience. But the best hasn’t come yet, because in this location you will also find a wonderful restaurant and its even more talented chef, or better, a starred chef. This is actually the best recipe for your wonderful day.
