TREVISO THROUGH THE CENTURIES

Treviso is a lovely little town which is centuries older than Venice, its most famous neighbor.

Just to give you a rough idea, many population passed in Treviso, and here we have a short and quick list: starting from the first inhabitants, they are dated back the prehistoric time, and then Treviso passed under the Roman Empire, later through the Barbaric invasion ending with the beginning of Medieval period, ending up in the dominion of the glorious Republic of Venice, and finally Mr Napoleon – the french Emperor – and then the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and finally the two World Wars.

And almost for every periods, in Treviso you can find signs and proofs of those periods, of those eras, of those men, of those facts.
